BIOGRAPHY and BACKGROUND
Walter M. Primoff, CPA
Managing Director

Walter M. Primoff, CPA, is Managing Director of the National Network of Accountants, with offices in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, California and Virginia. The Network provides comprehensive support to local CPA firms offering financial planning services to clients. Walter is the past Deputy Executive Director of the New York State Society of CPAs and has written extensively on financial planning and other issues facing the CPA profession.

Walter has broad experience as a seasoned practitioner, author and educator. He is a noted expert on the regulation and structure of CPA financial planning practices and consults with major corporations and CPA firms on matters pertaining to changes affecting the profession. He is Chairman of the advisory board of Synergy, a nonprofit organization providing technical support for CPAs interested in building financial planning practices. He is coauthor of Synergy's CPA Guide to Structure and Regulation of a Financial Planning Practice.

As the past Deputy Executive Director of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Walter supported 33,000 CPA members in all facets of practice and was highly involved, in New York and nationally as well, with the profession's legislative, technology, self-regulatory and other professional issues. He led the development of LUCA Online™ for Society members, one of the nation's first major electronic-commerce enabled extranets.

Walter taught at Pace University's Graduate School of Business, has guest-lectured at many universities and has developed and edited a number of continuing education programs for CPAs.

He is a member of the editorial board of The CPA Journal, a national technical publication, and developed the Survival Issue Workshops, a program presented throughout the U.S., helping CPAs understand and strategically manage the technological, global competition and regulatory forces that are changing the faces of their companies and firms.

Walter frequently speaks and writes on technical and other professional issues both in the U.S. and abroad. He is a media resource on the CPA profession and has been quoted in many business and other publications, including The Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and Forbes.
